You have two options when you arrive at the Lima airport. You can either take a taxi or a bus depending on where you’ll be staying.
A taxi from the airport to Miraflores is roughly 25 USD (81.25 PEN) while a bus ticket is only 8$ (26 soles). Both the taxi and bus will arrive to Miraflores within 30 minutes of leaving the airport, however, the bus may take you longer depending on your bus stop. From airport to bus’s last stop, the whole trip should take no longer than 1 hour. The bus leaves at the start of every hour.
If you’re like most tourist you’ll be staying in Miraflores, which in this case we recommend you use the Express Bus. The Express Bus goes all around Miraflores, so whether you’re getting a hotel or an AirBnB, you’re sure to find a stop near your accommodation. You can click here to find your bus stop.
We also like to recommend the Express Bus because it’s safe, reliable and predictable. Upon arriving to Peru, sometimes at odd hours hampered with luggage, an easy and reliable ride to your hotel is what you need. Once you’ve unloaded your luggage then go ahead take some risk.
While waiting for your luggage, try to find the Express Bus stand and get your tickets if you haven’t done so already. This will save you time and help you get on the next bus. Note: The bus departs from the airport at every start of the hour between 6AM and 12AM.
Where to get your Express Bus Ticket?
You can either get your ticket online or at the airport, however we recommend you get your ticket online. This way you can pre-pay and have one less thing to think about upon your arrival. Online tickets unlike tickets purchased at the airport can be used at any time, all you got to do is hop on. If you choose to buy online, we recommend you pass by the counter to get more information about your itineraries.
Elsewhere Than Miraflores
If you’re not staying in Miraflores, then your only choice is a taxi ride. You can find a taxi driver approved by the airport, which are reliable but will cost you a few more soles. If you want to save some money, you can find a taxi driver outside the hotel, however you’ll have to go further to find them and will have to practice greater vigilance as these are not vetted by the airport.
